Middlesex Magic Star Brandon Stephens Scores 1000th point in OT win

Senior forward Brandon Shelton (Cambridge, MA) drained the game-winning three-pointer with seven seconds left to lead UMass Dartmouth to a come-from-behind, 91-89, win at Rhode Island College in Little East Conference men’s basketball action on Tuesday night at The Murray Center.



The win helps put the Corsairs (13-5, 6-2) into a tie with the Anchormen (12-6, 6-2) for first place atop the Little East standings. Junior forward Brandon Stephens (Dorchester, MA) led the visitors with 21 points. He scored his 1,000th career-point on a layup just 1:23 into the second half. Shelton finished with 17 points and five three-pointers. Rose had 16 points and five assists, while sophomore center Lance Greene (Dorchester, MA) had 15 points and six boards.
