John Crawley led the way with 21 points as the St. Bernard's boys' basketball team opened the season with a 75-43 win over host Blackstone-Millville Regional Friday night.
Brandon Weyant added nine points, while Andrew Baron chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds in the victory.
The Bernardians have a bit of a break before next facing New Bedford at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17, in the IAABO Board 44 Tip-off Classic tournament at Monty Tech.
GIRLS' BASKETBALL
* Junior point-guard Amanda Hogan did it all for host Tyngsboro in its first-ever Midland-Wachusett League game, leading three into doubles digits with 18 points (four 3s) and also adding six steals, five assists and three rebounds in a 64-36 win over North Middlesex Regional.
Mackensey Farina had a double-double for the Patriots (0-1) with 11 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Kim Morgan and Emily Church each added six points in the defeat.
